This is a new blog designated for novice freelance translators.
I'll be expressing my thoughts on (my) work as a freelance translator and the translation industry in general, looking to concentrate especially in the problematic phenomena in the industry and how to react to them as a freelance translator.
I myself have entered the industry only recently and my motivation for this blog stems from my observation of the following problematics, inter alia:
* low agency prices: who's to blame and what's to be done?
* blue board records and black lists of agencies - where to get trustworthy information in order to filter out low-pay agencies?
* how to spot measures agencies are taking in order to keep the rates low (buzz words like "MT post-edit")
